Position Specific Description NextEra Energy Partners, LP (NYSE: NEP) is a growth-oriented limited partnership formed by NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE). The renewable energy projects are fully contracted, use industry-leading technology and are located in regions that are favorable for generating energy from the wind and sun.
NextEra Energy Partners is looking for experienced investment professionals with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join our team in Juno Beach, Florida. As a member of NEP’s financing team, you will directly support management in its project and corporate financing and capital raising activities. You will also be exposed to the principal investing and asset acquisition process and play an active role in the development and implementation of NEP’s broader strategic goals / initiatives. As a Business Manager at NEP, you will be given high levels of ownership and responsibility and directly participate in the structuring and execution of renewable energy transactions.
- Build, enhance, and maintain complex transaction financial models
- Create presentations, information memoranda and other analysis for internal and external audiences
- Research current capital markets trends and educate the team with competitive intelligence reports
- Support project and corporate capitalization processes with due diligence, identification of key risks and mitigants, and cash flow analyses
- Work closely with NEP M&A and Forecast teams throughout transactions and ad-hoc projects
Develop financing strategies and execute on transactions to fund NEP's acquisitions and meet annual growth targets Skills / Qualifications
Structured, project, and/or corporate finance experience in renewable energy / infrastructure
- Exposure to a wide variety of capital markets asset classes and transaction structures
- Ability to create and maintain economic models in excel
- Strong academic background in business, economics, or finance Job Overview Employees in this role support the overall P and L management of one or more NextEra generating assets. Individuals review findings to be presented to senior management. This position supports budgeting and forecasting, analyzing P and L variance, participating in ad hoc and special projects and coordinates with other business units regarding initiatives.
Job Duties & Responsibilities • Completes complex financial, operational, or technical project analysis • Conducts analyses regarding issues that have an impact on the operation of a specific functional area and makes recommendations to management • Leads medium to large project teams that support informed decision making within the business unit • Maintains project schedules and reviews team member input and documents for technical accuracy • Performs ad hoc projects, report development, modeling, and other miscellaneous projects • Oversees discretionary capital improvement or restructuring projects for generating assets • Generates invoices for land owner payments • Monitors financings and regulatory requirements for compliance and completion of operational assessments • Performs other job-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree • Experience:5+ years Preferred Qualifications • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) • Master's - Business Administration • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
