Position Specific Description

We are seeking an innovative and results-driven Technical Manager in IT to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering on our Operational Excellence strategy, ensuring efficient execution of data projects, and continuously seeking innovative approaches to enhance our technological capabilities. Your leadership and technical expertise will be crucial in driving high-impact IT initiatives that align with our company's strategic goals.

Operational Excellence:

  • Lead and manage IT teams to deliver exceptional performance in line with our Operational Excellence strategy.

  • Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics to optimize system efficiency and reliability.

  • Implement best practices for IT operations, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Data Project Management:

  • Oversee the execution of data projects, from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions, working within an Agile methodology.

  • Utilize and help improve advanced data analytics tools and methodologies to transform raw data into valuable insights that drive business decisions.

  • Align operational data work with multi-year transformative data strategy.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Foster a culture of continuous innovation, encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and practices.

  • Identify and help implement opportunities for process automation and optimization, leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning.

  • Stay informed about emerging trends in IT and energy technology to proactively recommend and implement innovative solutions.

Leadership and Development:

  • Inspire and mentor a team of IT professionals, internal and external, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Facilitate professional growth through training and development initiatives, ensuring team members stay abreast of technological advancements.

  • Work closely with other leaders to ensure execution and daily operations align with strategies and critical projects.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with senior management, stakeholders, and external partners to align IT initiatives with business objectives.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver impactful IT solutions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Successful delivery and understanding in the electric utility domain, especially with data analytics.

  • Demonstrated accomplishments leading technical teams in the AWS cloud ecosystems, especially operational best practices and leveraging multiple data-related services.

This position establishes strategy, develops business plans, and oversees and manages the design, development and implementation of technology solutions to meet business needs. Leaders in this role provide leadership and oversight to manage performance and results in one or more Information Technology (IT) disciplines. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, influence, vision, and direction to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals

  • Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy

  • Oversees value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs

  • Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation

  • Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments

  • Oversees development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

  • Attracts, develops and retains a high-performing and diverse team

  • Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs

  • Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives

  • Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 8+ years

  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
