Position Specific Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Advanced Applications and Analytics team, responsible for developing software applications to support Renewables Fleet operations. You will play a critical role in scaling our applications to meet the needs of our growing fleet. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable infrastructure alongside other team members. The candidate should have experience in working with large data sets and collaborating with various teams. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of software development, as well as expertise in handling and processing large-scale datasets.

Skillset Needed:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in C#, .NET, Angular, Python, and AWS.

  • Proficiency in C# programming language, with a focus on building robust and scalable applications.

  • Strong knowledge of the .NET framework and related technologies.

  • Experience in developing web applications using Angular framework.

  • Proficient in Python programming language, with expertise in Python libraries and frameworks.

  • Solid understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.

  • Experience with database technologies, such as SQL or NoSQL databases.

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions and meeting project deadlines.

  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to explore new technologies and frameworks.

  • Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services) cloud platform, including familiarity with various AWS services like ECS, S3, Lambda, and RDS.

  • Knowledge of AWS serverless architecture and experience with serverless computing using AWS Lambda.

  • Familiarity with AWS SDKs and CLI for developing and deploying applications on AWS.

  • Understanding of AWS security and compliance principles, including knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and AWS Key Management Service (KMS).

  • Ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant applications on the AWS platform.

  • Proactive mindset and ability to identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance software development processes.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in agile development methodologies.

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD, particularly in an AWS environment.

  • Prior experience in building and maintaining scalable and reliable applications on AWS.

  • Understanding of software security principles and best practices.

  • Knowledge of code versioning tools, such as Git.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides full-time technical support to the operations and business unit personnel

• Performs system testing and documentation to critical systems during significant changes and/or upgrade

• Analyzes and identifies the root cause of - and implements comprehensive technical solutions to - complex application deficiencies and system issues

• Provides technical leadership in the functional specification, design and implementation of new (as well as enhancements to existing) security center applications and tools

• Develops new (and improves existing) processes with goal of increasing productivity, reducing risk of system failure, promoting efficiency in work flow, and meeting or exceeding the key operational performance targets

• Establishes, documents and maintains procedures and guidelines related to the day-to-day operational support provided to the operations and business unit personnel

• Travels to power plants for onsite troubleshooting support

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
